Hello everyone!

My name is Hillary Cardama, and I am a young leader from Iquitos, Peru. As a first-generation college graduate and an advocate for youth empowerment, I have dedicated my life to creating opportunities for young people in my region and beyond. Today, I am reaching out to you with an incredible opportunity that I need your support to achieve.

I have been selected to attend the 30th Youth Assembly in New York City, taking place from August 8th to 10th, a prestigious global gathering of young leaders working towards sustainable development, social justice, and global change. This event will allow me to connect with like-minded individuals, learn from experts, and bring back invaluable knowledge and networks to my community in the Peruvian Amazon.

Why This Matters

Coming from a region with many challenges—limited access to education, economic hardship, and social inequality—I know firsthand the importance of representation and advocacy. At the Youth Assembly, I will be able to share the realities of young people in the Amazon, raise awareness on key issues such as environmental protection and youth leadership, and gain the tools needed to amplify my impact.

However, attending this event comes with significant costs, including airfare, accommodation, registration fees, and living expenses while in New York. As a young leader from a developing region, covering these expenses on my own is a challenge. That is why I am asking for your support—every contribution, no matter the size, will bring me closer to this life-changing experience.
