Hello everyone, my name is Hilca Martinez.

The next day after Christmas 2025, I was feeling very sick. I left work and went to the hospital where I was admitted. I was experiencing gallbladder issues, liver and kidney infections, and more. After a 5-day hospital stay, I was only home for two days when I was rushed back to the ER experiencing stroke health issues. I had to learn to walk, dress myself, do things, and more. Due to those health issues, it left me unable to continue to work. And I was the breadwinner of my house; I still have two children that depend on me. To make things even harder, on Friday, March 5, 2026, I was told that I have liver cirrhosis stage 4. I just want to make sure my kids and I have a stable home. After so many years of taking care of the elderly, now I’m the one that needs to be cared for. Anything can help us to stay in our home so I can focus on my health to get better.
