High Desert Adventure Collective: Empowering Homeschool Families
In the High Desert of California, homeschooling families in Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, Adelanto, and Lucerne Valley often face unique challenges—limited access to enrichment programs, hands-on learning, and career exploration due to distance and cost barriers. That’s why a group of local homeschool moms came together to create High Desert Adventure Collective - a growing homeschool co-op designed to give children real-world, experience-based learning opportunities that extend beyond textbooks and computer screens, currently serving over 125 families. Our mission is simple: to empower students in rural communities by introducing educational and career opportunities beyond their local environment.
To continue growing and serving families, we are working toward becoming an official nonprofit and 501(c)(3) organization. This step will allow us to apply for grants, build partnerships, host larger educational events, and better serve homeschool families throughout the High Desert.
Homeschooling families often face major obstacles: field trips can be expensive, transportation costs add up, and specialized learning opportunities are often far away. Many children miss out on regular social interaction, and parents lack community support and resources. With your help, we can organize group field trips, cover admission and transportation costs, expand educational opportunities, and build stronger community connections.
We are raising funds to cover the costs of becoming a nonprofit, including legal fees, application fees, bylaws origination, and materials. Every donation—big or small—helps create life-changing educational opportunities for children in our rural communities.
