Help Hide and Go Peep Farm Rebuild after Fire

Nestled between the hills of East Madison, Maine, and the shores of Wesserunsett Lake, sits the quaint and unassuming, Hide and Go Peep Farm.  Homesteaders, Sonia and Jeff, along with their children and apprentices, work tirelessly to preserve the integrity of the land and animals with ethical, sustainable, and organic methods. Members of MOFGA, and active members of their community, the couple offer educational farm tours, conduct workshops, and produce veggies, fruits, herbs, milk, and eggs, as well as other wholesome goods.  They offer CSA shares and operate a farm-based stand. It’s a tightly knit business that each family member plays an important role in. Apprentices take up residence at the farm, and simultaneously, a place within the family. On any given day between the First of May and the Middle of October, you may find Jeff tending to the many large gardens, and Sonia feeding the goats, while 7 year old, Wren, collects eggs, and the teens pot seedlings.  Poultry, rabbits, goats and cattle are raised under the highest standards, and treated more like family pets than commodities.  Sonia’s and Jeff’s commitment to rural Maine is unshakeable. They are champions for equality and social justice, and those values extend to all aspects of their personal and professional lives. They recognize the limited access to affordable, whole, and organic products, and strive to provide their local community members with the best they have to offer.  Hide and Go Peep Farm and its many inhabitants were devastated on March 8 when a fire raged through much of the house.  The fire caused extensive damage to the home, destroying their commercial processing space, as well as most of their personal belongings. Thankfully, and most importantly, the family (humans and animals) were able to escape and no one was seriously injured during the blaze. Unfortunately, the building was not insured.  In order for Sonia and Jeff to continue their way of life and service to the community, extensive repairs need to be made to the structure.  We humbly ask that you donate what you can.
