Help HHW School Transform Lives with Arts Education
Donation protected
The Henry Hendricks Weddington School for the Performing Arts is a school without walls. Our mission is to serve as a vehicle for transforming the passion and energy that youth possess into life skills that will act as a foundation for their development into successful adults. We accomplish this by coupling rigorous, academic-based arts education methodologies with practices that foster a process of self-reflection and the development of a broadened social consciousness. We service teens in the Chicago Urban communities as well as the downtown and suburban area. HHW goes into schools, churches, and community centers with the Performing Arts, allowing youth to have an outlet for their ongoing concerns or loves.
We teach different aspects of performing arts, specifically music, theater, and dance. Our ages range from 14 to 24 years old. We believe it is important to follow our young people all of the way through their college years so that they don't feel they are alone when college issues begin to overwhelm them academically, socially, or emotionally.
We are raising funds to assist with our increasing cost for transportation, costuming, equipment, master classes/workshops, educational materials, marketing, teaching artists, infrastructure, and technology/telecommunications needs.
It would be ideal if we can raise these funds by September 2024. This would, and will, mean so much to us. We will be able to plan for field trips, competitions, theater admissions, and other needs that we ordinarily would not be able to afford during the upcoming teaching sessions. Please know that by giving to HHW School for the Performing Arts, you will be contributing to the positive well-being of at least 200 teens in the Chicagoland area, of whom we service within an annual session.
