Jay and I have been blessed with a sweet baby boy named Hezekiah. He is a calm, joyful, and silly little man even at only 1 month old.
A few weeks ago we (Hezekiah's mom and dad) noticed 2 golf-like balls bulging from his groin area. After taking him to his doctor's appointment, we were told that baby Hezekiah has an inguinal hernia. The Doctor explained to us that his opening between the abdomen and groin was left too wide when he was developing. Due to the opening being too wide, Hezekiah's intestines have been going to and from his gut/abdominal area to his groin. Now that he is older and stronger, when he pushes or flexes, his intestines are remaining in the groin area. This means that his intestine is a sitting duck at the opening, in between his abdomen and groin. At this point, the hernia can progress to be at a stage where it can become a dangerous blockage.
Thankfully, we noticed the hernia at a stage where it is not dangerous yet. We took Hezekiah to the Pediatric Surgeon to be evaluated and found that both sides of his groin will have to be operated on by end of January to close the openings. We are so grateful to get this matter evaluated as soon as we did.
With that said, the surgery doesn't come with a cheap price tag. Friends and family, we are asking for your help in covering a portion of Hezekiah's surgery cost. Whatever amount you are able to give will be a big blessing to our little family. We also ask that you keep Hezekiah in your prayers, as well as the Surgeon who will be operating on our sweet baby boy. Though this is a time that's saddened Jay and I very much, we're prayerful and doing our absolute best to ask God what He wants to teach us as He walks us through this valley.
Thank you!
