My dog Hermione is only 11 months old and has just been diagnosed with a very rare kidney disease that causes cystine bladder stones. She was peeing blood and had a very bad urinary infection. Because of this, she’s going to have to be on a therapeutic diet for the rest of her life and get her urine checked every 2 to 3 months. She was prescribed antibiotics for the infection and pain meds. The visit cost me my last $500, and the therapeutic diet is going to be costly. We’re hoping the diet change will dissolve the current stones but if not, they’ll need to be surgically removed. My husband and I are not doing good financially. Things have drastically taken a turn for the worse for us.
