As many of you guys know the last 6–7 months Hermione has been struggling with pneumonia on and off. She has been to our local vet multiple times as well as 3 hospital visits to WSU. They are unable to figure out why she keeps getting pneumonia. Our vet has now sent over a recommendation to WSU where they want a new exam that includes a new blood panel new X-rays in addition to a BAL ( a lung flush to gather bacteria and see what kind it is and what’s causing it to better treat her) that includes anesthesia and endoscopy. Depending on exam and x rays they also might require a CT scan before the BAL procedure. We are looking at a low end of $2,300 to 3,600. She is currently on a new antibiotic and prednisone to help with her current bout of pneumonia. We have her on all the supplements we can think of to help support healthy lungs but the vet says this is the next step. If anyone can please help Hermione we would be extremely grateful.
