Help Hermella fund her semester

My name is Hermella Kebede and I am asking for your help to make ends meet this upcoming semester.

In all honesty, I found it a bit jarring to create a Go Fund Me, but after I've exhausted all of my resources I decided this is the next step to take.

The past couple years had been very difficult, emotionally and financially. I had to take a medical leave during my freshman year at American University and I had the fortune of being able to return to school last semester but that yielded in me having an outstanding balance because I couldn't qualify for aid without academic progress. This has been a source of an immense amount of stress for me especially since I lack other options in making ends meet including loans which I would not qualify for because of my limited credit history and absence of co-signers.

Because I've put my schooling on a hiatus for so long, I really would like to get back to continue without ceasing.

I have been speaking to AU Central, the financial aid office, and Student Accounts since May and the conversations were very demoralizing because nothing can be done.

It means a lot to me to return to school and I would greatly appreciate any amount of help I could get.
