Help Herland Save His Brother's Life
Donation protected
I am creating this GoFundMe to help Herland cover the costs of a kidney transplant to his brother.
My friend Herland (in the white shirt), a Bolivian citizen and history, bible history, and basic English teacher at a Christian School in his homeland, stayed with me in Miami, FL while visiting back in March. In May, after returning to Bolivia, he informed me of his need for financial help with his brother, Alexander, who works with technology. Alexander is currently using 90% of his salary to take care of his health in addition to the insurance they offer, but if he doesn't go to work then he will lose his insurance.
At one point, he had fluid in his lungs and had to be resituated due to his failing kidney and other health issues. During that time, he began to lose hope and say things like, "If it's God will, then let me just die." Herland told him not to think that way because he should be positive. At that time, Herland also offered to be his kidney donor, pending compatibility.
Herland's brother is currently in a critical health situation and urgently needs a kidney transplant. Currently, Alexander is on dialysis and suffering from different types of pain daily, which reduce his quality of sleep. This results in him being tired at work and sometimes having to leave early or miss work entirely. Herland will be his kidney donor based on the many test they have already ran to prove compatibility, but the operation costs over $40,000 in Bolivia, has to take by November or he will have to redo the compatibility test ($3,000) since it is only valid for 6 months.
Thus far, he has only raised $3,000, which covered the tests, and is still unable to pay for the surgery. We thank you in advance for reading and giving. You truly are a life saver!
Funds will be used directly to cover all medical and recovery cost.
