Meet the Mighty Hercules. This little bundle of fur joined my family at the end of Oct 2024, barely 6 weeks old. Full of kitten energy and playfulness.
Unfortunately in Dec he started to retreat, he stopped playing, hiding all the time, and ran a high fever over 104. Throughout Jan and Feb, he had multiple vet visits, tests, and four different medications. Nothing made him better nor controlled his fever. Vet suspected dry & neuro FIP - Feline infectious peritonitis.
Normally a life ending disease for kittens and adult cats. However there has been amazing research for a cure.
Hercules started treatments a week ago and I am amazed at the change. From a kitten that could barely walk, low appetite, high fever and no energy to a kitten that is out of hiding, starting to play with his fur bros and slowly returning to being an active kitten. The two photos of him are 11 days apart. The bright eyed photo is his 6th day of treatments, such a change.
Unfortunately the treatments are lengthy, takes a minimum of 12 weeks to complete, and can be very costly as the fur patient needs daily treatment.
Please consider donating to help with Hercules' medical bills and his treatments.
Thank you for your time.
