Herb Bermann lost everything in the palisades fire

Our beloved Herb , bright light,and friend to many needs help. He is truly the kindest man, so much so that his nickname is “peaceful Herb” He has been a stalwart support in our community and now he needs our support.

Herb lost everything in the palisades fire and stayed in a shelter for 6 weeks looking for a place to live just 1 month shy of his 89th birthday.

My name is Deirdre Higgins , I am from Malibu where I met Herb in 1995 as I got to know him as a wonderful person who always takes time to help those in need. My husband, Victor Grenner also a local and friend to Herb for 17 years, and I are organizing this fundraiser. We are so grateful to everyone in the community for coming together to help him financially. Herb and I have been best friends for 30 years, supporting each other through life’s inevitable ups and downs. This is such an overwhelming tragedy that we need to reach out for community support for him. We are collecting donations to give to him because he isn’t technologically fluent. We will receive donations and direct deposit all donations to his bank and have shared with him all of the outpouring of support. It has moved him to deep emotion and is actuating real change in his life.

Herb will be using this money to pay for rent, food and daily expenses. He is currently staying with family, who have graciously offered a place while saving to find his own place to live.

Any donations are truly appreciated and will be so helpful to Herb as he continues to try and piece together his life.
