I adopted this girl only couple of months ago. She’s beautiful but not very cuddly so couldn’t find home. None wanted a cat who doesn’t like very much people and other animals. In my home she opened up, doesn’t mind my other cat and dog. She is still shy with other people. She never before was outside. My housemate left the door one evening and she got spooked. I’ve been looking for her 2 nights. Thankfully she came back, but few days later I noticed she’s sleeping a lot and not eating, feels pain when touched. At the vets I was told her bloods aren’t good, looks like she has abscess and is blocked with hair ball, underweight and dehydrated. Week later another vet visit and diagnosis was shocking and terrible. FIP. Deadly disease. That night she slept on my shoulder, and she was so skinny I didn’t feel her little body on me at all, she was just fur and bones. I reached out to my friends to ask what to do. My vet told me PTS is best option, but I declined, I’ve lost 2 dogs in last few months and I have another young dog with spondylosis, my other cat has kidney failure. I couldn’t give up on this little girl, she is full of life and a fighter. Treatment she has to go through is long and painful for both of us. And not covered by insurance. I’m virtually broke trying to save my dogs and treating my young dog and old cat. Apart from treatment all 3 need special food, vitamins, supplements.
This is my plea to help me save her life. I spent all I had on my animals, and will try to fight for Hera, but I never expected that some illnesses have no treatments covered by insurance. This is heartbreaking for me as there will be time I won’t have money to pay for all the meds she needs to take.
