Hi, my name is James Brennan. I'm a father of three amazing daughters, and today I'm reaching out for support for my middle daughter, who has recently been accepted to the prestigious London School of Economics for a study abroad program.

She was accepted into this incredible program, and it’s something she has worked tirelessly toward over the past few years. She’s entering her final year at the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, majoring in Finance, with plans to continue on and earn her MBA. LSE is a once in a lifetime opportunity that would give her unmatched academic experience, global exposure, and the chance to grow personally and professionally.

But just three months ago, our lives changed forever. Her mother, my wife, Angel passed away unexpectedly. Angel was the heart of our family, and we had planned and prepared to support our daughter’s education abroad together. It was financially possible with her by my side. Now, it’s a struggle.

Angel was so excited about this opportunity. She was incredibly proud of her daughter and never once doubted that she would achieve something great. Angel believed deeply in Jimiya and not just in her intelligence or work ethic, but in her heart. She always said that her daughter was here not only to make a difference in the world, but to bring kindness and love into it. She wanted her to see the world, to grow from it, and to give something beautiful back to it.

Through it all, my daughter has been a rock, trying to hold our family together even while navigating her own grief after losing the person she held closest in the world. Her birthday passed a month and a half after we lost Angel, and though we tried to celebrate her, she couldn’t bring herself to truly enjoy it. Still, she has never stopped showing up for school, for our family, for me all while grieving a loss that no one her age should have to bear.

She dreams of helping people. Truly helping. Her goal isn’t just success, it’s impact. She wants to change lives, uplift others, and leave the world better than she found it. She’s said to me before, “I just want to help as many people as I can before I go.” That’s the heart she lives with every day. Just like her mother, “a doner” that saved 5 lives before she left us. Although we know she’s watching over us.

Jimiya told me not to start a GoFundMe because she thought it wasn’t important enough. But as her father, I know this is important. Her dream matters. Her future matters. And I know that if Angel were here, she’d be doing everything in her power to make it happen.

So I’m doing this for both of them.

Any contribution big or small will go directly toward helping my daughter attend LSE: covering tuition, travel, housing, and the basic essentials she’ll need to live and learn in London.
Even if you can’t give, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Your support means more than you know.

Thank you,
James Brennan
