Hi Friends and Family!

We are the Mannings - as you know, our precious son Henry was born prematurely with periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) causing quadriplegic cerebral palsy (CP). PVL, a brain injury common in premature infants, is a death of small areas of brain tissue around fluid-filled areas called ventricles. The damage creates "holes" in the brain. CP is a neurological disorder that affects body movement and muscle coordination. Currently, in Henry's case this has caused mobility struggles as he can't sit, crawl, or walk independently. He also has aphasia (speech delay) and dysphasia (has to eat mushy food and struggles with severe acid reflux).

Henry is now three years old! And he’s been making great progress through the weekly therapy appointments, intensives we did last year, and some specialized equipment to support his development, growth, and play.

But he still has a long way to go.

Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover the cost of some of the things we need for Henry. We would be so grateful for your support to give him the best chance to learn and grow! Any amount you’re able to give will go towards his medical bills, therapy intensives, and equipment. We’d particularly like to return to All Kids Are Perfect this year for another week-long therapy session, as that was instrumental in his development.

This journey as his parents is both challenging and rewarding. He has our endless love and we want to be able to give him the continued, specialized support he needs.
