Hi, my name is Henry and I’m a 15 year old Explorer with a huge opportunity ahead of me. I’ve been lucky enough to be selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Poland representing the UK, a once in a lifetime international event that brings together tens of thousands of Scouts from all over the globe!

I've been in Scouting for 12 years, I now volunteer as a Young Leader where I enjoy handing down my knowledge to the next generation of Beavers aged 6-8. From melting s'mores over the campfire, classic knot tying to explosive science experiments!

The World Scout Jamboree is an incredible event that celebrates adventure, friendship and global unity but it’s also about much more than that. The cost of attending (around £3,500) doesn’t just cover my trip, most of the funds raised go towards helping Scouts from less well off countries take part too. By supporting me, you’re not just helping me reach my dream, you’re helping make the Jamboree accessible for young people all over the world who otherwise wouldn’t be able to go.

Scouting has taught me so much including confidence, teamwork, leadership, outdoor skills and the importance of helping others. I’ve camped in every type of weather (even in the snow), earned badges through hard work and made friends for life. The Jamboree will be a real chance to put those skills into action, meeting Scouts from different cultures, learning new things and bringing those experiences back home to the 1st Nailsea Scout hut.

This would be an adventure of a lifetime and making new friendships across the world, especially in Poland where my dad’s family grew up exploring my family’s culture.

I’m working hard to raise the money through events, challenges and community activities, but I need your help to reach my goal of £3,250. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to representing the South West and helping other Scouts around the world share in this amazing adventure too.
