Hello I am Georgia the owner of a French bulldog called Henry , If you’ve met Henry, you’ll know he’s much more than just a dog , he’s family.
He’s the one who’s always there with a wagging bum, a happy face, and endless love. Seeing him in pain has been absolutely heartbreaking.
Yesterday, Henry had what should have been a simple tumble in the garden.
Sadly, the fall resulted in a severe left lateral condyle fracture of his elbow. What started as an ordinary day quickly turned into every pet owner’s nightmare.
After seeking urgent veterinary care, we’ve learned that this is a complex injury that requires specialist orthopaedic surgery if Henry is to have the best chance of keeping and properly using his leg. Without specialist intervention, the outlook is much more difficult.
Many people have kindly suggested the PDSA, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone’s support and advice. I did attend the PDSA as soon as possible, but due to the severity of Henry’s injury and the limitations in available specialist equipment and surgeons, the only treatment option they were able to offer was amputation.
As devastating as that news was, I am determined to explore every possible opportunity to save Henry’s leg before considering that outcome.
To do that, Henry needs to be assessed and treated by specialist orthopaedic surgeons at either the Queen Mother Hospital (RVC) in Hatfield or Southfields Veterinary Specialists in Basildon. These hospitals have the expertise, facilities, and equipment needed to manage fractures of this complexity.
Unfortunately, specialist veterinary care comes with significant costs. The expenses include specialist consultations, advanced imaging, surgery, hospitalisation, medication, rehabilitation, and follow-up appointments. The total cost is expected to be far beyond what I can manage alone at such short notice.
As difficult as it is to ask for help, I am reaching out to friends, family, and kind-hearted animal lovers to help give Henry the chance he deserves.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly towards Henry’s treatment and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean just as much and could help us reach people who are able to support him.
Henry has brought so much happiness, comfort, and unconditional love to those around him. Right now, he needs our help.
Thank you for taking the time to read Henry’s story, for your kindness, your support, and for helping us give him the best possible chance of recovery.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Georgia & Family
