This past week has been filled with fear, uncertainty, and unimaginable challenges for Henry and his parents, Becca and Michael.

What started as what seemed like a simple cold quickly became something much more serious. After Henry developed severe swelling on his forehead, doctors conducted extensive testing and discovered that he had developed a rare condition called a Pott's puffy tumor, an abscess caused by a sinus infection that had spread into the bone of his skull and into his brain. The diagnosis was both shocking and frightening.

On May 26, Henry underwent major surgery to remove the infection and prevent further damage. Doctors knew before surgery that the infection had spread to the bone in his skull, but they would not know whether the bone could be saved until they were able to operate. During the procedure, they determined that the infected portion of his skull could not be preserved and had to be removed. Doctors also drained a small abscess in the left frontal lobe of Henry's brain.

While the surgery was successful, Henry's journey is far from over. He will require ongoing treatment, monitoring, and recovery, and later this summer he will undergo another surgery to replace the missing section of his skull with a protective plate.

As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for Henry, Becca, and Michael. Along with the challenges of recovery and the uncertainty that comes with such a serious diagnosis, the medical expenses continue to grow.

We are asking for your support to help ease some of this burden. Donations will go toward Henry's medical bills, future surgeries, rehabilitation, and other recovery-related expenses so that his family can focus entirely on helping him heal.

Many people have asked how they can help beyond donating. We have also organized a meal train for Henry, Becca, and Michael to help ease some of the day-to-day burdens while Henry recovers.
