Help Henry and his elderly mom rebuild their home

Apt burnt to pieces- Lost home (Photo credit: Hakim Gibson of New York Post) Hi, My name is Jennifer Pei Lin and I'm helping to fundraise a small fund for my good friend Henry and his elderly mother who has severe degenerative eyesight that renders her not able to travel well and needs assistance guidance in everyday situations. On Tuesday, August 10th at 10:30 AM, the roof in their apartment collapsed, which fortunately did not fall or hit his mother in the head. They barely made out of the apartment alive, running for their lives as they were just about to start their day. They had no time to take any belongings- keys, wallet, cellphone, any sort of ID with them. They didn't even have shoes on while they ran. At first, the cops and firefighters told them that the neighbor directly upstairs had fallen asleep while the stove was on but the story turned for the worst. It turned out that their neighbor was brutally murdered and the suspect set off an explosion that blew up the entire apartment. The whole building has been evacuated in fear of structural damage, but my friend Henry and his mom lived directly downstairs of the explosion which caused them to lose everything in their home. They're currently crashing on my couch while they figure out their next steps on where to stay and go for the future. I hope this small fund will take them to the next new and better chapter of their lives. Every dollar helps, even if we do not reach our goal! Thank you!
