Help Henrik have a better visit to Australia this time
Donation protected
Hey all, this is Curtis. My close contacts will remember how my cousin’s boy, Henrik the Viking, came to visit Australia last year from Denmark; but instead of enjoying the lucky country like he was supposed to, the lad had a run of terrible luck, including paying a small fortune to go on a White Shark dive but none of them could be bothered to show themselves - but not before an event on his second day in Australia, when he got bitten by a snake! We took him to a wildlife park where he petted a ‘friendly’ python, which latched onto him and wouldn’t let go.
Well, the medics couldn’t be sure if it was the snake or swallowing something Balinese on his stopover before he got to Aus (and they never did identify the big that nearly killed him) but fast forward a week or so and flu-like symptoms turned into full-blown sepsis - with Henrik having to be resuscitated in ED before spending the next 10 days on ICU.
Thankfully, he’s a sensible lad and had insurance, but the trip cost him a lot and he little, besides our excellent medical service and the back of a python’s head (still no sharks). Also, when he got back to Denmark, he lost his job, because he’d taken too much sick leave!
The short story is that he is now looking to come to our wedding in March. He hasn’t said as much but I have a very strong idea that the visit is very likely going to cost more than he can afford. I image his m would help him out but she also spent an fortune on a lady-minute booking when I told her how very sick Henrik was, so she’s not exactly flushed now either.
I am therefore asking if you can see your way to assisting him pay for his airfare, so it doesn’t break the bank for him back in Denmark.
Any donation would be so very welcome but I understand if things are a bit tight. Whatever you can do would be great.
Thanks for reading and all the very best,
Curtis
