On March 26th, I experienced one of the most traumatic days of my life. At 10 PM, my pocket American Bully, Hennessy, and I were taking our final walk for the night. After our walk, I put him to bed and left for an hour. When I came back and called him to me, he couldn't walk. I rushed him to an emergency vet at 3 AM, where he was diagnosed with IVDD, a genetic vertebrae disorder that left him paralyzed in his hind legs. As terrifying as it was, I felt a small sense of relief knowing he wasn't dying, but the reality of his condition has been overwhelming.
Hennessy is now on the road to recovery, but the costs are starting to rise quickly. He needs ongoing vet visits, a chiropractor, and an acupuncturist to give him the best chance at regaining mobility. His medication and the special items he needs because of his paralysis are adding up, and it's been a challenge to keep up with everything he requires.
Any support for Hennessy's recovery means the world to us. Your kindness will help cover his treatments and give him the best possible chance at a happy, healthy life. Thank you for considering helping my best friend get the care he needs.
