I have created this GoFundMe with a friend of mine named Hind, who has asked for my assistance as English isn’t her first language.

Hind Ali Mustafa Al-Samak is a Palestinian woman from Gaza who has been in Ireland since January for medical treatment. With her are her three young children who are aged 1, 2 and 4. Hind’s husband Belal remains in Gaza, as he was not permitted to travel with his family as medical evacuees. For any mother, solo-parenting three very young children is a huge undertaking. But the worry and stress over the situation in Gaza is a huge additional weight for Hind to bear and is directly impacting her health and well-being.

Hind’s father Ali has recently suffered from several serious cardiac events necessitating hospitalisation and surgery. The Israeli blockade prevents food and essential medicines from entering Gaza, which results in astronomically high prices for medical treatment. Hind’s family’s homes and livelihoods have all been affected by the war, making life very difficult for them financially. Malnutrition and an inability to access necessary medical treatment means Hind’s father’s condition remains precarious.

Any money raised by this campaign will go towards supporting Hind’s family in Gaza, in the hope that it will help them to access necessary medical treatment and food. Funds will be first transferred to my personal account as Hind doesn’t have an Irish bank account. As funds are raised they will be sent via international bank transfer to a family member of Hind’s in Gaza.
