help Noor Build an Accessible Life After Foster Care
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Noor, and I’m reaching out for support as I prepare to age out of foster care this December. While I’ve worked hard to build a future for myself, the reality I’m facing is overwhelming—and I need help to avoid falling through the cracks.
I live with Cerebral Palsy and use a wheelchair, which makes accessible housing a necessity, not a luxury. But accessible places are scarce and expensive. To make things even harder, I’ve been denied Persons with Disabilities (PWD) support because I’m a full-time student on a student loan. Even though I’m doing everything I can to move forward, the system keeps putting up barriers.
I’ve been in care because of an abusive and unstable home environment. And while I’m grateful to be getting out of the foster system soon, I’m terrified of what comes next. I don’t have family I can fall back on, and I’m at serious risk of being left without safe housing or basic support.
Right now, I’m studying at Douglas College to become a teacher—I want to help kids who’ve gone through what I’ve been through. But to stay in school, to stay safe, and to stay hopeful, I need a stable, accessible place to live.
Your support will help with:
• Finding and securing an accessible, wheelchair-friendly home
• Covering moving costs, home basics, and mobility-related needs
• Bridging the gap until I’m eligible for more stable support
I’ve come this far on determination alone. I’m doing everything I can—but I can’t do this alone. If you can donate, even a little, it would mean the world. And if you can’t donate, please share my story.
Thank you so much for seeing me, believing in me, and helping me move forward with dignity.
With love and gratitude,
Noor
