Help Send Helena to Rome – Art History Summer Study Abroad 2025

As many of you know, Helena is a transfer student from New College of Florida to Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, where she is majoring in Art History. We are reaching out to share an incredible opportunity she has been given to study Art History in Rome this summer through the CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) summer study abroad program.

According to Helena, “This experience isn’t just about exploring a new country, it’s about being immersed in different cultures, and worldviews, and developing the global perspective I need to thrive in today’s interconnected world.” In addition, it will assist her in completing her Division III final project, which is a requirement for graduation from Hampshire, and will provide valuable experience that could potentially assist her in getting into a graduate program to study Art History and Museum Studies. Her goal is to be an archivist in a library or museum once her schooling is completed.

Helena currently works as a student archivist for the art museum at Hampshire College and has been saving her earnings to help defray the cost for the summer in Rome study abroad program. She has also received two grants and scholarships to help with the cost of the program, as well as financial assistance from us.

However, studying abroad comes with financial challenges, and Helena would appreciate your support to make her dream a reality. The program costs are $14,700 for coursework and lodging and an additional $5,000 for airfare, food, books, and incidentals. Even with her savings, grants and scholarships, and financial support from us, she’ll still be short of funds. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward flights, program fees, and living expenses. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would be appreciated.
