On November 11, 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

This diagnosis caught us off guard and without health insurance. The diagnosis itself has been overwhelming, as well as the many Dr. visits, tests and procedures that have followed.

My treatment plan includes surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation and endocrine therapy.

As we all know, the bills for cancer and the treatments are astronomical.

The pandemic has affected our income, we have exhausted our savings and have had to lean heavily on our credit cards.

At this point in my treatment plan I'm ready to begin radiation. Every treatment is done on an ideal timeline. Chemotherapy and immunotherapy started 4 weeks after my surgery and radiation should begin 4 weeks after chemotherapy ends. With every week my treatment is delayed, my risk of recurrence increases.

I still have many scans, tests and endocrine therapy ahead of me.
