Help Helen end period poverty in International Women's Month
Hi, I'm Helen (Choon) and I am planning to wing walk to celebrate my 71st birthday, and to raise money for a charity close to my heart, The Pachamama Project. I have been volunteering for Pachamama for the past four years. The charity has a network of volunteers sewing reusable period pads which are then sent to people experiencing period poverty around the world - keeping girls in education and restoring dignity. I have personally made 33,000 pads! Please help me raise money for the funds needed to make and ship the pads. 500m people experience period poverty and I am helping to solve the problem one reusable pad at a time. Last year, I jumped out of a plane for Pachamama on my 70th birthday. Next year? Who knows!!
More information about The Pachamama Project CIO: We distribute volunteer-made reusable sanitary pads to refugees and other vulnerable people who are suffering from period poverty. Since founding in 2020, we have sent more than 150,000 pads to people in need, taking more than 18,000 individuals out of period poverty in Lebanon, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Pakistan, Uganda, Ukraine, South Sudan, Syria, the USA and here in the UK.
