Hi, my name is Heith Sines-Wainwright, and I’m a 21 year-old Indigenous sumo wrestler with a dream to represent Australia on the world stage at the 2025 World Sumo Championships in Thailand this September.
Over the past two years, I’ve poured my heart into the sport, competing at the Oceania Sumo Tournaments in Sydney and proudly earning:
2 silver medals in the heavyweight division
2 silver medals in the open weight division
1 silver medal in the team category
These achievements have earned me a spot to represent Australia at my very first international competition.
But I can’t do it alone. I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping cover the costs of flights and accommodation so I can chase this once in a lifetime opportunity.
This is more than just a tournament. As an Indigenous athlete, I want to break barriers, represent my culture with pride, and inspire other young Australians especially Indigenous youth to dream big and step into spaces they’ve never seen themselves in before.
Thank you!
