Over Thanksgiving weekend, my husband Khord started feeling unwell. At first, we hoped it was something minor, but by Monday he still wasn’t himself. On Tuesday, Khord tried to go to work but realized he needed medical attention, so he went to the ER. After a long afternoon and evening of tests and phone calls, the doctors discovered a blood clot in the main artery that supplies blood to his intestines, as well as a hiatal hernia. He was admitted to the hospital that night and started medication for the blood clot. Thankfully, by Wednesday morning, the clot was gone, but Khord still wasn’t feeling well, and now the doctors are focusing on treating the hernia.

This has been an incredibly stressful and scary time for our family. With Khord in the hospital, we’re facing mounting medical bills, travel costs, and lost income. The uncertainty and worry have been overwhelming, especially for our kids, who just want their dad to feel better and come home. We’re doing our best to stay strong and support each other, but we know we can’t do it alone.
