Help Heidi with surgery and recovery

Heidi is preparing for gender affirming surgery. This surgery will come with significant expenses and we could really use some help. I will be Heidi’s support person through surgery, and as most of you know, due to my own disability, I am in a wheelchair and unable to drive. This will add additional expenses to an already tight budget. Heidi will be inpatient in Baltimore for 5 days, and her team recommends her staying close to the hospital for the subsequent 5 days until her first follow up visit. We have been given permission to stay at a hospital owned property, but even that will cost us approximately $700. during this time we will need to order in food as there will be limited access to a mini fridge and microwave. Once we get home, our groceries will increase in cost because we will need to use instacart or another delivery service for all of our shopping as Heidi will be unable to drive for about a month. We will also have the added expense of needing to Uber from DC to Baltimore for post op appointments 1-2 times a week for that first month. (Medical transportation is not covered by insurance) We also have many post op care supplies that are not covered by insurance. If you the ability to help us out, any amount will help.
