Help Heidi kick cancer's butt
Donation protected
As many of you are now aware, Heidi received life changing news last week when she was diagnosed with leukemia.
Anyone who knows Heidi knows that she is generous, selfess, has a huge heart and is the first to help others when she may be struggling herself. She is a kind soul with a big personality and I know each of you would have your own "Heidi" story pop to mind when reading this.
It doesn't seem fair that something this horrible could happen to someone so amazing, but unfortunately cancer doesn't discriminate.
Heidi was diagnosed with Acute promyelocytic leukemia (or APML), which is extremely rare and only affects around 100 Australians every year. While this seems like the typical "bad Pringle luck", unlike other leukemias, APML has an extremely high prognosis so the Heidi we know and love will fight this and be back on her feet in no time!
The next six months are going to be crucial for her recovery and intense on her both physically and emotionally. Unfortunately Heidi needs to remain in Brisbane for chemotherapy, which leaves her fiance, Linc and two boys, Cahal (5) and Billy (2) back in Gayndah.
Linc has to continue his business in Gayndah, while our Mum has taken a few months off work to help him out with Heidi's boys. Between business as usual back home, time off work and visits to Brisbane, money is going to burn through very quickly.
While Heidi and Linc are as stubborn as eachother and won't want to accept anyone's help, the next 6 or so months are going to be hard enough on them and their family that finances should be the least of their worries, hence why I've set up this page. I hope they won't get mad, but instead accept people's generosity to help :)
Any money donated will help cover lost wages, travel, accommodation and medical expenses. Even when Heidi returns home, she will require weekly trips to Brisbane for follow up treatment and won't be able to return back to her normal life for some time.
Any amount you can donate, either a little or a lot, is going to make such a positive impact on Heidi's journey to come. If you can't donate, can you please share in hope that someone else may see this and be kind enough to help.
If any funds are remaining once Heidi is healthy again, they will be donated to the Leukemia Foundation to help other families going through the same struggles.
Thank you for your kindness, well wishes and generosity through this tough time.
Xx
