Heidi is a lively, loving 64-year-old mom and grandma with so much life still ahead of her.
She’s the kind of person who is always showing up for others—whether it’s caring for elderly residents at a nursing home, spending time with her longtime salon clients, or being the fun, cheerful grandma her family adores.
Right now, Heidi is facing a serious and unexpected medical crisis.
She is currently hospitalized at the Medical University of South Carolina, where doctors have discovered that her heart is very weak. At this point, they are still determining the best path forward—she may need an LVAD pump, or possibly even a heart transplant.
While we are hopeful, we know this will be a long and uncertain road to recovery.
Heidi is not only the heart of her family—she is also the main provider in her household. With her husband recently retired and in a transition period without health insurance, this situation has created an overwhelming financial strain on top of an already emotional time.
She has five grandchildren, including a brand new granddaughter she has not yet had the chance to meet. More than anything, we want to see her regain her strength and continue being the incredible grandmother, caregiver, and person she is.
Outside of work and family, Heidi finds joy in the simple things—caring for the animals on her farm, making people feel beautiful, and bringing light to those around her.
