Help Heidi Grigg, Mum of Three, Widowed and Fighting Cancer

Donation protected
Four years after losing her husband to cancer, Heidi Grigg — a mum of three — now finds herself in another battle, as she is undergoing a year-long course of treatment for triple-negative breast cancer.

Your support will help her keep up with essential bills (including mortgage payments), living costs and allow her to focus fully on her treatment and recovery — fighting the cancer and being there for her children.

If you’re able to give or share this page, it would mean the world to Heidi and her family.

Heidi’s Journey So Far:

Many know Heidi as a resilient, devoted mum who has guided her children through profound loss.

In 2021, Heidi lost her husband to aggressive skin cancer — a devastating blow following years spent supporting him through chronic renal failure and, ultimately, a kidney transplant.

Left widowed at 46 with three young children, Heidi had to rebuild without a financial safety net. She persevered to provide for her family by moving from contract work to eventually securing a permanent job. And then in 2024, she was able to buy a small family home — the first property she had ever owned.

It was an extraordinary milestone and a turning point for her family after so much grief and loss. For the first time in years, life seemed to be finding its rhythm again.

Why Heidi Needs Your Help Now:

A perfect storm of redundancy, unemployment, and a serious cancer diagnosis has left Heidi unable to work at the very moment her family needs her most.

In March, Heidi’s role was made redundant. Despite her best efforts, she was unable to secure new employment. As the sole provider, months without income quickly became a real struggle.

Then, while searching for work, Heidi was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer - just four years after losing her husband to cancer. The news has been especially hard on her three children, who have already endured so much.

Under the care of The Royal Marsden Hospital, Heidi is facing a year of intensive treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and surgery, followed by a lengthy recovery. This treatment makes it impossible for her to earn a living.

With no income, covering essential bills (including mortgage payments) and living costs is becoming increasingly difficult.

At this critical time, Heidi’s friends have set up this GoFundMe page to help ease the financial burden, so she can focus on her treatment and her children, without the constant worry of day-to-day bills.

If you’re able to donate or share Heidi’s story, your support will make a direct and meaningful difference for Heidi and her family.

How Your Support Helps:

Funds raised will help Heidi to:
• Keep up with essential household bills (including mortgage payments) and living costs
• Help with treatment costs and travel to and from hospital appointments
• Make essential home improvements possible

Every contribution lightens Heidi’s load, giving her peace of mind so she can focus on her treatment and her children.

A Message from Heidi’s Friends:

From all of us who love and support Heidi, thank you for any support you can offer. Life has tested Heidi many times; this is another battle she must face. Your kindness and generosity will help carry her toward what we hope and pray will be a healthier, more stable future. Together, we can make that possible.

If you could also share Heidi’s story with friends or family, it would be a huge help.

Update: Thank You and Treatment Progress

Thank you for your incredible support! The funds raised so far have already eased the very real and immediate financial pressure Heidi was facing, and we cannot thank you enough for that. This means that, as we approach Christmas, Heidi can fully focus on being with her children through the festive period with some of that burden lifted.

Heidi is now just over halfway through her chemotherapy, with immunotherapy continuing alongside, and she is managing the demands of treatment as best she can. We’ve had encouraging updates from her medical team, with the cancer responding to treatment in the way hoped for.

As part of her ongoing medical care, genetic testing has now been completed, which has helped clarify more about the treatment journey ahead. The planned breast surgery will involve a bilateral mastectomy, and then once her year-long current cancer treatment is complete, Heidi will also need further preventative surgery to reduce future cancer risk to make sure she is there for her children. What was already a very long treatment journey is now even longer!

Heidi continues to need support to get through everything. We are deeply thankful for every donation, message, and share. Each one truly makes a difference.
