Help Heidi Care for Kellen

Donation protected
  • Hello. My name is Judy Kubera. I am the proud grandmother of 17-year-old Kellen Wilson from Menomonie, WI. At birth, Kellen was diagnosed with an ultra-rare genetic disorder, SSR4-CDG as well as agenesis of hypotasia of the corpus colosum and cerebral palsy. He is non-verbal and wheelchair bound. Kellen suffers from gastrointestinal complications and ongoing feeding difficulties. Due to an occurrence with his intestines in October of 2023, Kellen spent a majority of the past 18 months at the Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He lost roughly 20 feet of his intestines and is completely reliant on IV nutrition through a central line. This places him at high risk for on-going blood infections. We are very thankful that Kellen is home now, but he needs 24 hour care. Kelllen's mother, Heidi, is a single mom, liable for Kellen, her 9-year-old son, Bryce, and her 21-year-old daughter, Jocelyn, who is a senior in college. Due to Kellen's disabilities and illnesses Heidi was forced to quit her job to care for Kellen full-time. They are in need of resources and financial help to cover medical expenses, necessities for Kellen's well-being and other living expenses. My husband, Roger (a disabled Vietnam veteran) and I have helped support Heidi and her children physically and financially as much as we can. However, during these challenging times, we are no longer able to provide the amount of support for our daughter and three grandchildren as we have been, due to Roger's recent diagnoses of Parkinson's Disease. We are grateful for your generosity and kindness. Thank you!
