Help Us Avoid Medical Homelessness

Hey everyone,

Sometimes, life doesn't go as planned. And sometimes those unplanned events snowball into something worse.

My cat and I are at serious risk of becoming homeless soon (by the end of June).

The short version: I'm currently unable to work, due to an injury and a movement disorder. As such, funds are running low. Right now, our options are: 1. homelessness or 2. going back to live in a DV (domestic violence) situation.

We need your help.

The money donated will go towards paying for rent, utilities, food, and medical expenses (for me and my cat).

($2,000 = one month of expenses covered.)

I'm not able to hold down a regular job for medical reasons:

1. I have an extremely unpredictable movement disorder (PNKD, very poor prognosis). Episodes usually last for more than an hour (sometimes up to 8 hours). They happen at least several days per week, sometimes more than once in a day.

2. Due to multiple injuries, my left arm is out of commission (i.e., unusable) for the foreseeable future.

I've relied on odd jobs (freelancing, temp work, Etsy sales, etc.). Things that adhere to meeting deadlines more than specific work hours. But now we're stuck in a place where those odd jobs aren't so helpful anymore.

(Due to the arm injury—which extends from shoulder to fingers—I'm not able to work on the Etsy crafts anymore. I apply for remote freelance work daily; unfortunately, it's a highly competitive source of income.)

We need your help. And any help is appreciated.

Whether it's $5, $20, or $100, your support matters.

In the meantime, I've contacted local case management and women's shelter services. I'm on a waiting list for both.

$6,000 is the minimum needed to get us through the summer.

$14,000 will get us to the end of the year.

The bottom line is...we need to be able to afford a safe space to stay in, and right now...we can't.
