Help Heidi attend an ASIST conference!

I am writing to you with a heartfelt request for financial support to help me attend the ASIST conference scheduled for October 3rd-6th, 2024, in Newfoundland.
As you may know, one of my biggest dreams has been to become an ASIST trainer (applied suicide intervention training skills) - and I’m so thankful that in the past year this became a reality! At the end of August I will have taught 3, 2-day classes and will be fully certified!
The upcoming conference, themed "Where there's a Glimmer, there's Hope," holds a lot of value for me. The total cost of attending, including registration, accommodation, and meals is $625, and flights are around $530. As there are likely other expenses I’ve set the goal for $1500.
In my current circumstances, which include working part-time due to a disability, non-profit work, and my ongoing mental health expenses, I am unable to cover this amount on my own.
I am someone who is actively involved in the community, including organizing the Dubé Holiday Gift Drive for 7 years (and beyond!), involvement in various events, engaging in public speaking, creating complex posts, writing articles, providing support and information directly to individuals and more! Likewise I offer mutual aid and donate to nonprofits when I can.
Therefore, your support in helping me attend the ASIST conference would be a meaningful acknowledgment of my dedication to making a positive impact and ultimately continue to allow me to benefit the community I serve. Thank you for considering my request!
Should I receive donations, but not reach the goal I will use the funds to cover the therapy expenses I have for the remainder of the year. Should funds exceed the goal, they will be used for the same as well as out-of-pocket expenses related to running Mentalhealthyxe. If you would like to make a contribution outside this platform feel free to contact me on my Instagram to make arrangements. If you are a business I’d be happy to rep your brand as I post about my travels and learning.
