Hi! My name is Heidi. I live in Bakersfield, CA, and I am 52. I have been diabetic since I was 26. I have been hospitalized twice for pancreatitis, which, unfortunately, has caused my pancreas to almost completely stop producing any insulin. At the beginning of December 2024, I was placed on an insulin pump. My insurance originally stated they would cover the claim, and I was sent the pump and supplies from Medtronic. In early January, I was informed that they had denied the claim. I am currently in my second appeal to have the pump covered by insurance. If they do not approve the claim, I will have to pay $11,000 to have the pump or face legal action. I currently spend around $200 a month for my medications and pump supplies. 

I have never asked for money like this before, but I have contributed to other GoFundMe accounts. I believe that what you put out comes back to you.
