Help Akeem “Hee Hoo Boss” Walker Get an Autism Diagnosis, Speech Therapy, Sensory Support & Education.
Blessings everyone,
We’re raising funds to support Akeem Walker, a confident and vibrant 26-year-old entertainer from Denham Town, Kingston, Jamaica. Known as Hee Hoo Boss, Ghetto MJ, and JamaicaMJKingOfPop, Akeem is a beloved Michael Jackson impersonator whose bold spirit and stage presence light up every room he enters.
He is obsessed bless him.
But behind the moves and music is a powerful story, one of strength, survival, and the need for support.
Akeem lives with developmental and learning challenges. He functions at a kindergarten level, and likely has autism, but has never had a formal diagnosis. Despite all this, he moves through the world with joy, courage, and unshakable confidence, especially when performing.
What We’re Raising Funds For
We are working to get Akeem a professional autism assessment through Caribbean Tots to Teens in Kingston, one of the only clinics in Jamaica offering adult evaluations.
Assessment cost: $80,000 JMD ($520 USD)
Deposit to book:$20,000 JMD ($130 USD)
Extras: Transport, follow-ups, and therapy sessions
This diagnosis will give Akeem access to support he's never had and it will help those around him understand how to uplift and guide him properly.
Speech Therapy:
Helping His Words Be Heard
Akeem has difficulty with pronunciation and clear speech, which can lead to frustration and misunderstanding. He communicates best through movement, music, and facial expressions, but we want to help him develop his voice even further.
Your donations will also go toward
* Speech and language therapy
* Communication tools, books and resources
* Building on the confidence he already has with more clarity
Broken System
He Went to School, But They Couldn’t Help With His Needs.
Akeem did attend school, but like many neurodiverse children in Jamaica, he was never properly supported. Autism awareness has only been formally pushed since around 2007, and even today, many educators still lack training on how to work with autistic or neurodiverse students.
Akeem was misunderstood, labelled, and eventually left behind, not because he couldn’t learn, but because the system didn’t know how to teach him.
Now, at 26 years old, he is finally on the path to understanding himself. And with your support, he can get the diagnosis, therapy, and education he should have had from the start.
We aim to enroll him in a special adult learning or vocational program, where he can:
* Learn to read, write, and build basic life skills
* Explore music and creative expression
* Grow in independence and feel empowered by learning
This would be Akeem’s first real chance at proper education delivered in a way that meets his needs.
MJ-Themed Sensory Room – A Sanctuary Just for Him
We also hope to create a Michael Jackson–themed sensory room for Akeem a calm, safe, expressive space where he can:
* Regulate emotions
* Quiet alone space
* Explore music and movement
* Feel in control, safe, and surrounded by what he loves
The room will include sensory lights, textures, MJ artwork, headphones, music tools, and a quiet reading corner.
A Bigger Mission
Becoming Jamaica’s Neurodiversity Advocate
Akeem is preparing to use his story to help others. As a confident performer with real struggles, he is ready to become a voice for neurodiverse Jamaicans.
He doesn’t want pity, he wants progress.
