Finishing my college degree has never been a straight path for me. Life has had its twists and turns, and I’ve have had to take breaks to work, pay bills, and simply survive in the real world. While many of my peers moved on and graduated, I kept holding onto my dream, even if it meant taking the long road.
Now, at 34 years old, I am just four classes away from earning my bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance, something I have been working toward for years. Performing and teaching have always been my greatest passions, and I have promised myself that I would never give up on this goal.
This fall, I have the chance to take three of my final classes, with the last one planned for next spring. God willing, by this time next year, I will have completed the biggest obstacle I’ve ever had to overcome in my entire life.
Over the summer, I poured myself into teaching voice lessons and was able to raise $2,225 toward my tuition, but I’m still short $1650 to cover the remaining cost. Unfortunately, I no longer qualify for financial aid because I have been in school for so long, which means every class I take has to paid out of pocket.
If you are able, any amount, big or small, will help me cross this final stretch and achieve something I have been working toward for most of my adult life. Your support would mean the world to me and bring me one step closer to making this lifelong dream a reality.
