AIUTA LA FAMIGLIA DI HEBA ATTRAVERSARE IL CONFINE E ARRIVARE IN EGITTO

Ciao, sono Christine Macri e sono qui per chiedere il vostro aiuto per i miei amici Heba Hamouda, Shady Kahlout e i loro tre gemelli di tre anni. Attualmente stanno cercando di sopravvivere a Gaza.

Ho incontrato Heba circa due anni fa, quando ho iniziato una collaborazione con “The Hands Up Project” https://www.handsupproject.org una organizzazione no profit che offre opportunità ai ragazzi in circostanze critiche, come i palestinesi, a comunicare in lingua inglese oltre i confini con spirito di pace, dignità, tolleranza e solidarietà attraverso progetti tesi a costruire giustizia sociale, libertà e pace globale. Mi sono immediatamente innamorata della causa e ho iniziato la mia prima esperienza di insegnamento in remoto con una classe di ragazzini di otto anni.

Contemporaneamente, Io e Heba abbiamo collaborato a un progetto teatrale in lingua inglese in remoto che ci ha visto impegnate per quattro mesi da febbraio a maggio 2022 mettendo in relazione e facendo interagire alcune ragazze palestinesi e alcune italiane.

Nel video sotto riportato si può vedere il lavoro svolto che è significativo e quasi profetico della situazione in cui Heba e il suo popolo si trovano in questo momento.

Ora io e mio marito, Arturo Cosentino, sentiamo la necessità di aiutare questa famiglia. Heba e Shady desiderano avere una vita e un luogo sereno e sicuro dove poter vivere serenamente e dare un futuro ai loro piccoli figli. Stanno cercando in tutti i modi di uscire dall’inferno di Gaza in sicurezza.

*Heba è laureata alla “Islamic University of Gaza” dove ha conseguito un Master in Lingue e Traduzione”. Ha collaborato con University of Arizona, Duke University e Middle Est Islamic Studies Center per progetti di Teachers Collaboration Across Borders.

*Heba ha richiesto una borsa di di studio per un dottorato (PHD scholarships with PSSAR Palestinian Student Scholars At Risk) in Canada.(www.pssar.ca);

*Ha richiesto borsa di studio per dottorato alla “The Salem Scholarships” presso Ulster University. Northern Ireland (www.ulster.ac.uk/scholarships/the-salem-scholarships);

*Ha fatto domanda per insegnare all'Oryx Universal College in Qatar

*Shady ha un Bachelor in Hygienic Administration conseguito presso “Al-Quds Open University-Gaza

*Shady sta cercando un lavoro con l’aiuto dell’organizzazione “Talent Beyond Boundaries” (www.talentbeyondboundaries.org)

*Stiamo cercando altresì, in alternativa, di trovare un Paese che possa dar loro asilo politico.

Heba e Shady come primo passo, dovranno comunque passare legalmente il confine con l’Egitto. Un passo complicato che ha un costo approssimativamente di $5.000 a testa per gli adulti e di $2.500 per ogni figlio. Questi costi comprendono il rilascio dei documenti da parte del governatorato egiziano di Rafah, il viaggio e i costi per vivere il tempo sufficiente in Egitto da consentire loro di richiedere e ottenere un visto per l'Europa o il Canada. HELP HEBA’S FAMILY CROSS THE EGYPTIAN BORDER

Hi, my name is Christine Macri and I’m here to ask your help for my friends, Heba Hamouda and Shady Kihlout and their three year old triplets. They are presently trying to survive in Gaza without the daily necessities of life.

I met Heba about two years ago when I began working with “The Hands Up Project” (handsupproject.org); a charity that affords opportunities for children in difficult circumstances, such as Palestine, to use English to communicate with one another across borders in a “spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, equality and solidarity”. The project is committed to global social justice, freedom and peace. I immediately fell in love with the cause and began my first online teaching with a class of eight year olds situated in Gaza.

Heba and I then began a 4-month remote theatre project with her two Palestinian students and my two Italian students. If you watch the video below you will see the story unfolding. It is symbolic of Heba’s reality in this very moment.

And now, my husband, Arturo Cosentino, and I feel compelled to help. As parents Heba and Shady are yearning for a normal, safe place to carry on life and raise their children. They will do anything they can to get their family out of Gaza. Their primary focus is a safe escape.

While our research and attempts continue, we have taken action:

*Heba has submitted an application for a PHD scholarship with PSSAR, Canada (www.pssar.ca);

*Heba has submitted an application for a PHD at, “The Salem Scholarships” at Ulster University, Northern Ireland (www.ulster.ac.uk/scholarships/the-salem-scholarships);

*Heba has applied for a teaching position at Oryx Universal College in Qatar;

*Shady is looking into work through the organisation, “Talent Beyond Boundaries” (www.talentbeyondboundaries.org);

*Alternatively we are searching for a country that will grant the family political asylum.

Needless to say, with or without a scholarship/work, Heba and her family must cross the Egyptian border as a first step, a complicated process costing approximately $5000 for each adult and $2500 for each child. This cost includes the release of necessary documents from the Egyptian governorship of Rafah, travelling expenses and living costs in Egypt for the necessary amount of time to allow them to request and receive a Visa to enter Europe or Canada. This is a clear, legal path but we need your financial help. Your donations are greatly appreciated. If everyone chips in we can do it.
