Hi, my name is Tailor and I'm asking for help for Heaven West she is a very dear family member of mine, and someone who has helped so many others around her. She is a loving mother to two beautiful children, Nova and Nico, a devoted spouse, sister and friend.

After her birthday in July she started having very intense eye pain that lasted about a week. During that time she made an eye appointment to see what could be causing the constant pain. At her eye appointment they let her know everything was normal and no abnormalities. They then sent a referral for an MRI to be done, however before it could be scheduled she ended up having to go to the Ardmore emergency room because the pain had gotten so bad. The emergency room then sent her to OU Medical for further treatment. Once there they did the MRI to then find out her optical nerve was swollen. They kept her at OU Medical for 5 days to do IV steroids and then sent her home.

She went back to OU a week later with the eye pain. She stayed 5 more days to do more IV steroids. After some testing they found out and diagnosed her MOGAD disease. MOGAD is a rare neurological autoimmune disease that attacks the central nervous system. After the diagnosis she was sent home on a very high dose of steroids and referred out to a specialist for MOGAD disease.

After being evaluated, the MOGAD disease specialist stated that there is no cure for MOGAD at this time and since it is so rare there is no real treatment plan. IVIG was recommended to help keep flare ups to a minimal but you would then have to have 2 or more flare ups to start. And insurance usually does not approve coverage for IVIG per what the specialist stated. A month went by since that appointment and she was still having intense pain while on high dosage of steroids that's causing more health issues for her to name a couple: whole body swelling and stomach pains.

She ended up having another flare up that caused her to lose her eye sight in her right eye. That same day I took her to OU medical again for a third hospital stay that resulted in finding out she had optic neuritis again caused by the MOGAD. After 6 months of constant pain and hospital stays her insurance finally approved the IVIG treatments for her to have a home nurse to give her the infusions every 2 days for 4 weeks.

During these last 6 months between going to doctor appointments and hospital stays to now receiving infusions. She has and is missing so much time away from work and time with her family. That has now caused many financial issues for them and this will forever be an ongoing battle for her and her sweet family to go through. So today I'm asking our community to come together to help the most sweetest and most giving person. To help this family get back on track to what matters the most, family, time being spent together, and most importantly health.
