Help Heather's Road to Recovery
WHAT HAPPENED:
Heather Killie woke up with intense stomach pains the night of Wednesday, April 28, 2021 which resulted in a hospital trip and emergency stomach ulcer surgery Thursday April 29. When Heather did not wake up from the stomach surgery as expected, tests revealed a brain bleed on the left side of her brain. On the morning of Friday April 30, she was urgently transferred to St. Vincent's in Indianapolis for emergency surgery to relieve the pressure that was building on her brain. Surgery was successful and her vitals are where they need to be following such a procedure.
As of May 2, 2021, Heather is on a breathing tube and not yet conscious.
Her family and hospital staff are working to get her to follow commands at this time and while everyone would love to see her wake up, we can only patiently wait and pray as the hospital helps her brain and her body heal.
WHAT IS NEEDED:
Heather is the mother of three incredible kids - ages 9 (Everett), 3 (Betty Jo), and a 9 month old baby (Zeke).
She loves being a stay-at-home Mom right now with her wonderful husband Joe. And Joe's dedication to Heather and the kids means he will do whatever needs to be done to get Heather healthy and back home while he continues to support the family and provide for his children - but you can imagine how hard this journey will be for Joe and Heather's family.
***If you are able, Heather's family could use some support to pay for all the extra expenses caused by this health emergency.***
We can give them some relief by giving donations of any size to help to pay for meals, transportation, extra lodging, etc., so we can keep Heather's family going as they face whatever each day will bring, taking one step at a time....
OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
- Pray.
- Hold up Heather and her family in your minds and hearts and send healing energy.
- And - if you are financially capable to help at this time - contribute a donation of any size to this GoFundMe that Heather's brother, Adam Nees, will be managing on Heather's behalf.
*There may be more tangible ways people will be able to help once we know what Heather needs in order to recover but right now...
This is what you can do to Help Heather's Road to Recovery.
