Heather's Medical Story & Journey to Recovery

Hello,

We are starting a fundraiser in hopes of raising money for a very caring and great friend/peer of ours, Heather Darrow. 

Only being 29 years old, Heather's story began towards the end of 2021 when she was diagnosed with Cushions, resulting in a brain tumor growth in her pituitary gland. Since then, Heather has visited and endured multiple doctors/specialist appointments and various tests/obstacles. It was then determined that her tumor is inoperable because of it's close proximity to the artery, and that her only option now is radiation treatments.

However, Heather's illness has taken a downhill spiral to her body recently, leaving her almost immobilized for almost a month, and slowly deteriating her bone density in her spine. Since Feb. 2022, she has been hospitalized and already undergone 2 emergency surgeries while still waiting for her first radiation treatment and approval for her rehab process to hopefully walk again.

Being out of work due to her condition and situation, her medical bills have began to pile, and the fear of being unable to finance her future operations is slowly becoming a grave reality for her. But despite everything, Heather has somehow remained her empathetic, witty self and staying positive and humble through it all (she even named her tumor: Pepe). 

We are proud of her for staying so strong, and want to do what we can to help support her as much as possible, so that she can focus on fighting and getting herself better!
