our families are incredibly thankful for every single donation. Praying the Lord returns your giving 100 fold.
How can I possibly put into words the life of my sister? Last week she was here and now I’m writing one of the hardest things.
I’m going to do my best to tell a sliver of her story.
She was born in the blizzard of ‘78. And the good Lord saw fit to take her the day that 9 tornados came to our side of the state.
Heather had one gear and it fast.
From walking early to be a daredevil.
She made sure that everyone was taken care of; to the point of neglecting herself. She did not care Beause serving others brought her joy.
She loved fiercely. Family was her everything. She was baby to Pierre
She was mom to Kenneth, Shayla, Sequoyah, avontae, and Samara and many other ‘adopted’ kids. (As well as her in law kids Stephanie and Mikey)
she was mimi to Landyn and Emmy
She was daughter to Kendall and JoAnne
She was sister to Marvin, Dawn, Sarah, Andrew, Amy Travis
She was auntie headjewa to the plethora of nieces and nephews. She would
Buy every single one of them a Christmas gift and birthday present. She threw them all birthday parties. And I mean she went alllll out. Cotton candy, snowcones, slushes, decor overload. It was truly amazing.
She had sooooo much determination. She had so many hard obstacles in her life. She had health problems and you wouldn’t know it because she pushed on.
She would call me at times saying we need to take this to the Lord and she would start declaring satan to leave and praising Jesus
Sadly, on her birthday this year she suffered not just one but 4 strokes. She pushed and worked so hard while in therapy. She had a goal to walk down the aisle at our nieces wedding without any assistance. She accomplished it.
She was doing better…and then the unexpected happened…
On Thursday May 15th I received a call from our dad. I quickly called my mom who was sobbing. I booked it out the door praying i could get to my sister…20 min or so later my mom called me hysterical….i had the heartwrenching task of calling my siblings and dad…
My precious sissy had a widow maker heart attack…
Because this was so unexpected our family is asking that in leiu of flowers a monetry gift be given in her honor.
While the amount seems high please understand our heart on the goal amount.
First and foremost a funeral is expensive. And the sudden cost alone of that is debilitating.
Secondly, my brother in law has been given 2 weeks off of work WITHOUT bereavement pay.
Thirdly, her children desire to have rememberance jewelry made from a reputable source so that it doesnt break.
Fourthly, my brother in law is playing catch up from Heather not being able to work since February and her disability never kicked in yet.
Fifthly, she still has a minor child at home who will needing things….
I pray that sharing a very small snippet of who she was (i hate using that word) will bless you.
And now she leaves a legacy…her life Lives on through all of her loved ones…
