Help Heather's Healing

The Backstory:
The Jim and Heather Willis family have come upon some serious medical issues.  These are two very hard working, employed, family-centered people.

In May of 2018, Heather was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called“low-grade serous ovarian cancer stage 3C.” Don't let the “low-grade” fool you. Low-grade means that the cancerous cells are sneaky and look almost normal. The serous means the cancer appears as a wallpaper or film-like covering. During initial surgery, the plan was to remove a small cancerous area, however, cancer was found in other places resulting in a radical hysterectomy which resulted in a colostomy and there were issues with that surgery, so back to the hospital, and more surgery.

In October, Heather went in for the colostomy reversal and during the surgery, cancer was found and removed.  An ileostomy was performed to allow for the colon to heal. She then developed pneumonia and other major complications from this surgery, which has resulted in more procedures and a much longer than anticipated hospital stay.  There are more procedures scheduled in the near future, to reverse the ileostomy and ensure progress.

Prior to Heather's illness, in February of 2018, Sage, oldest daughter of Heather and Jim Willis, had a cancer scare, a carcinoma tumor on her appendix, which resulted in emergency surgery, and later, she fractured her wrist after a fall.

Through all of this, Heather and her family have kept a very positive attitude and she continues to update with pictures of her shining smile.

The Cost:
The Willis family has exhausted their savings by paying out over $20,000 in deductibles and $5000 in travel and lodging to and from the Billings hospital and specialists' offices, which is over 2 hours from where they live.  Heather has been unable to work, and the travel and medical needs have put a serious financial strain on Jim and his job.   Jim and Heather "self-pay" for their family of 5 health care coverage. The high deductible fees start again in January 2019.

How you  can help:
If you are able to contribute to their medical fund, please help.
We can't do anything to help her body recover quicker, but perhaps easing the financial burden and stress that comes with it will speed up the recovery and get her back to what she loves...family, friends, farming, football and shootin' stuff. This Go Fund Me was organized by her friends and family nationwide to try to ease some of the financial burdens that the medical bills have created. Anything and everything is appreciated, especially prayers.
