Early Sunday morning, our family's world was turned upside down when a fire broke out in Heather and Zach's basement. By some miracle, everyone—including their dog and three cats—made it out safely. We are so grateful for their safety, but the loss is overwhelming. They weren't able to save anything from their home: no kitchen supplies, no furniture, no clothing except for a few pieces. Their home is now unlivable, and we don't know when they'll be able to return or when insurance will step in to help.
Heather and Zach, along with Zach's parents, Richard and Melissa, and two siblings, now face the challenge of finding temporary housing where they can keep their beloved pets with them. They need to replace the basics—clothes, toiletries, household items—just to get through the coming weeks. The uncertainty and stress have been so hard on them. Everyone in the household are very private people and never ask for help, but now is the time they need it. This is a family who always helps others: Zach is a 911 dispatcher, Richard is a nurse of 30 years, and Melissa works at Quabbin School. Any support is greatly appreciated for a family who would give you the shirt off their backs. Now it's time to give them ours.
Please consider donating what you can. If you are unable to donate, please share with others. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
