In December 2020, Heather went to the doctor as she noticed an enlarged area around her left collar bone and an odd rash on her mid-section. Never in a million years would she think that she would hear the C-word, Cancer. Heather is an amazing single mom who devotes her time to her two kids, Madison and Cage. She is graduating with her master’s degree in School Counseling on May 15th, as she has a passion for caring for her students. She has been teaching for Keller ISD for almost eight years and is a leader within her church. Heather kept her life moving forward even with this devastating news.
In early January, Heather had a sonogram and biopsy on the enlarged lymph node. She was sent to Texas Oncology as the sonogram and biopsy showed T-cell lymphoma as the possible diagnosis. Heather has been under the care of her Oncologist since January 2021. Over the past several months, Heather has gone in for a PET scan, blood work, and more. Heather will have surgery on June 2nd to remove the lymph nodes and have pathology on the tissues to determine what type of t-cell lymphoma.
If you know Heather, you know she is a fighter and a warrior as she has overcome many challenging seasons in her life. Over the past six months, Heather has stayed strong and faithful even during this very stressful time. Her faith is so inspiring to others around her, especially me.
This amazing friend of mine, who is a big part of her community and role model to her students, needs us more than ever right now.
Her family and I ask for any help as Heather endures this process to cover her medical cost and upcoming treatments. Heather’s family has helped to pay a large portion of her surgery cost.
If you cannot donate monetarily, we, please ask that you help us lift Heather in thoughts, prayers, and love and let her know she is not alone in this season!!!
We together can help cover her and her two children in LOVE!!
