Help Heather Through this Horrible Tragedy

On March 25th when Heather was waiting on her front porch for her 13 year old daughter to arrive home from her walk from school, the most horrific tragedy occurred. The screams of her next-door neighbor led to her witness of a brutal murder by an assailant wearing a halloween costume - wielding a knife and a chainsaw. Her daughter rounded the corner just as this happened and unfortunately witnessed some of this incident; an incident that was incomprehensible in both its violence and brutality. Terrified, Heather was the 911 call and the first responder to this tragedy while the assailant ran to an unknown location. What she witnessed is unspeakable; the trauma that she must now navigate unthinkable. Heather and her daughter have no safe space in her home in which to process, navigate, and try to recover from this tragedy and as such they now are in urgent need of new housing accommodations for the both of them, their large dog, and three cats. As all of Heather’s friends will tell you, she is the kindest and most caring soul who is always there for her friends. Heather needs us and a helpful community now to help her pick up the pieces of her life. She will likely be struggling with this awful trauma for the rest of her life; a trauma I can not even begin to fathom working through. As we all know homeownership is out of reach for many and rent astronomical. If we can join together to help ease the financial burden for Heather as she seeks relocation of her family she would be immeasurably grateful. Thank you all.
