Robert‘s mom, Heather Clark, has had ongoing health issues, for the last few years. She has been slowly losing her vision, due to diabetes. Last year, she had stents placed, due to heart issues. The doctors were advising her to have a bypass, but placed stents as a lower risk. On December 31st, she was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with having a stroke. The stroke has worsened her vision and made it difficult to articulate speech. On her birthday, January 20th, Robert found her completely unconscious and she was rushed to emergency. Her blood sugar was critically low and had a severe infection. She was in the hospital for three weeks, then transferred to a skilled nursing unit. At this time, she is in desperate need of home healthcare. Because of her inability to upkeep her home and living on a fixed income, we have found her home in complete disrepair. The home has plumbing issues, in need of paint throughout, flooring, and most appliances are not working. Her family has been trying to help with cleaning, decluttering, and some repairs. But, financial resources are limited. Our goal is to give her a better living environment, which may enable her to stay in her home and receive home health. Heather has spent the majority of her life trying to help others. She has a huge heart and, regardless of her health issues, has tried to help others that are in need. Throughout the years, she has rendered aid to the elderly, strangers, and the less fortunate. Her friends fondly call her Saint Heather. For this reason, we are hoping that others will find it in their heart, to assist her during this time of need.
