Hi, My name is Trena and I am asking the world to assist in any way you can in helping a beautiful soul rebuild after a devastating fire took not just her home but her precious fur-son, fur-grandson and two other furbabies too.
See, in the early morning of Sunday January 23rd, Heather was awakened to the shop/house that she and her fiance, Michael, were refinishing, engulfed in fire. Heather and Michael were staying in an RV on the property. Michael had converted a portion of the house to be his workshop where he freelanced welding. The opposite side of the house was where Heather's beloved Great Danes had a safe room for when they couldn't be in bed with Mom and Dad. They had access to the outside or soft, warm couches and beds whenever they chose.
On Saturday night, Heather decided to keep all the furbabies in the "pup room" for the night while she deep cleaned the RV. All 7. So, she told everyone goodnight and went to cleaning.
Before I go on, I feel it necessary to explain Heather's special attachment to 2 of these furbabies, Maverick and his son Tuck. Mav was 2.5 years old and went EVERYWHERE with Mom. Hair salon, restaurants, visits to DQ for a pup cup, work when she could sneak him, and visit family and friends who ALL knew and loved Mav. He was her "son". So when Maverick produced a son with Sterling...Heather fell head over heels in love. And, just like Dad, Tuck became his shadow in everything with everyone.
Fast forward to Sunday 2am. Michael heard popping outside and went out to investigate. The fire was already going strong. He yelled for Heather to call 911. He ran to the end of the house where Mav and the others slept, broke a window, and smoke billowed out. He couldn't get in though. Trying their best to find the furbabies but the fire blocked all access. The fire department arrived and Heather screamed to get her babies out. She pointed to the area of the house where they were but the police pushed Heather and Michael back not allowing them to search or help. 2.5 hours later, the fireman hollers, "Here is one under the shed but it won't come to me." It's Angel!! She is deaf but safe! Heather now has hope! Maybe they got out and the fire scared them. Maybe they ran off. Heather jumped in her car to go search but the Michael sends a devastating text. "I found Maverick in his bed, smoke got him"
Then another text, "Found Tuck, Sterling and Gypsy, all gone from smoke inhalation."
My first thought was, why didn't the fire department find them!? Save them!? But I will never know and neither will Heather. We know they weren't burned, but they are still gone.
Michael lost all his welding equipment. His livelihood melted like wax in a candle. Heather lost her loves and everything from her history. They both lost the home and contents they were building together.
So now I ask for you to help my friend. The most caring person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Help to clean, rebuild and heal from this horrific loss. Even the littlest amount will be tremendously appreciated.
Thank you from my heart ❤
