Heather Emery has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure for many years and has been through many different treatments to try to help slow down the failure of her heart. She had a pacemaker put in 7 years ago with the risk of heart attack. She has been in and out of the hospital since then to help treat the failure. At the beginning of February she was admitted to the hospital again and was told her heart was working at just 10%. She went into cardiac arrest twice and was transferred to UCSF in hope of getting a new heart. Just a few weeks later on March 15th she received that heart. We're all so grateful she was able to get the transplant but now while she recovers there are a lot of costs that need to be covered, mainly outpatient housing that she has to stay at for 6-8 weeks.
